I'm quite serious about learning how to ride but also nervous of bareback. Seems so much more civilized and secure with a saddle. Horseriding is still strange to me, mostly because you see so little of the horse's eyes and I find that unnerving. I don't like speaking on the phone for the same reason, you can't see the eyes of the interlocutor. Sparrow has that too, but gallops about on naked horses like she was born not in the saddle. So maybe I'm just a cissy.
