This does feel like the start. It feels like the first gig after rehearsing in the garage, the first time an audience has been sought. It also feels very different from everything else she's done as an artist because it has been planned, deliberate, an exercise in looking for something rather than of seeing what can be found. And that, I think, is important, because it builds a wall of separation between it and those works that are free to a good home.


So, it's the start of the audience-seeking part of her output, and that will make the audience-available rest find places to go and the world will be, more generally, beautiful.
