I wonder if the cats and the horse are a way of spreading the mind? I think that's what it was with my cat. Having a loved animal is a bit like having a child, in that you are so aware of them you are almost aware by them: you so constantly imagine what they might be seeing and thinking and feeling it's like a multichannel Vulcan mind meld. And she's got five cats and a guest cat, a horse and a guest horse, which must take a lot of tuning.

It is good to imagine the wholly Other. Horses are more of a challenge than cats.
